(2) Usage of "か"

 Question sentence

a. an 'affirmative/objection question', which can be answered with 'yes/no'. In other words, it asks "A or not A".

b. 'Question-question' sentences, which use a question word for the part of information sought. The information in the question part of the question is being sought. 'Yes/No' is unnecessary.

c. 'choice questions', which contain two or more options in the question and ask the listener to choose one of them. This is "A or B (/C or ...)". This also does not require a 'yes/no'.

[Negative questions]

In addition to this, particular attention should be paid to the 'negative question', which is one of the affirmative/negative question sentences, where the question itself is a negative sentence and the use of 'yes/no' in the answer is peculiarly difficult.

a "Finally he didn't come ?"

b "No, he did not come."

c 'Yes, he came.'

In general, if the same negative statement is the answer to a question using a negative statement, the response is 'Yes', and if the answer is an affirmative statement, it is 'No'.

Do you mind taking pictures ?

[Interrogative sentences in the meaning of 'solicitation']

'Do you ~ or do you not ~' in the meaning of solicitation is a question with a negative word, the answer to which is 'yes' if you accept the solicitation and 'no' if you do not accept the solicitation. This is the same as in English.

Don't you go with me ?

Yes, let's go,

No, I don't go today.

Well, which one shall I choose?

This form of '~ ka ka (a)' is characteristic. It does not have an ascending tone. This form of speech is used even when a listener is present. This is because it is 'okay' if the listener does not answer. If I'm not sure, but I'm going to settle on my feelings.
